📢 Overview:
Chancellor Rachel Reeves today delivered the much-anticipated 2025 Spending Review. With headlines focused on NHS boosts and defence spending, many are questioning: Where is the justice, inclusion, and climate leadership?

While we welcome long-term housing investment and the expansion of free school meals, this review falls short of addressing the urgent structural and social gaps that disproportionately affect disabled, neurodivergent, low-income, and climate-impacted communities.

🏛️ Key Announcements:
£39 billion over 10 years for social and affordable housing

Extension of the £3 bus fare cap in England until 2027

Free school meals expanded to cover 500,000 more children on Universal Credit

Increased NHS and Defence budgets expected

Winter fuel payments retained for 75% of pensioners

💬 Official Statement:
“We welcome long-term housing investment, but we need ringfenced support for accessible homes, protections against displacement, and real partnerships with those directly affected.

Climate and justice must be integral—not afterthoughts.
If the NHS had not received a 3% uplift, perhaps Disability Justice and Climate Humanitarian Reform would finally receive the urgent investment they deserve.”

🔍 Our Response: What We Support
✅ Expansion of free school meals
✅ Targeted investment in social housing
✅ Commitment to public transport affordability
✅ Reversal on winter fuel support

🚨 What’s Missing:
No specific funding for SEND Education or Neurodivergent Services

Omission of Disability Social Care and Accessibility Measures

No Climate Humanitarian Emergency Strategy

No investment in legal aid or Home Office accountability

Fails to prioritise frontline workers in education, housing, and justice sectors

📣 Call to Action:
This moment demands public engagement and pressure. We call for:

A Disability & Neurodivergence Investment Plan

A national commitment to Accessible & Climate-Resilient Housing

A Justice Budget that addresses legal aid, family courts, and housing tribunals

Funding accountability mechanisms for Home Affairs & Policing

A new Climate Justice Innovation Fund to empower communities already adapting on the frontlines
