The GCBR (Global Citizens for British Reform) and TCSL (The Claudes SEN Law Campaign) have come together once again to challenge the status quo—this time with a powerful open letter to the House of Lords, calling for the repeal and revision of the UK Bill of Rights.
This collaborative piece, authored by TCSL2022 x StyledbyClaude, addresses the urgent need for legal reform in defence of British sovereignty and international human rights obligations.
🧾 What’s in the Letter?
The letter, also published on OpenLetter.Earth, outlines:
The constitutional threat posed by the current version of the Bill of Rights;
The risk of undermining access to justice and protections for disabled and marginalised communities;
A call to Parliament to preserve the UK’s obligations under the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR);
A demand for a new framework that reflects the UK’s diversity, its international legal responsibilities, and its modern democratic values.
⚖️ Why It Matters
In recent years, legal rollbacks have targeted some of the most vulnerable in our society—including disabled people, neurodivergent youth, ethnic minorities, and asylum seekers.
By dismantling the Human Rights Act and weakening judicial oversight, the proposed Bill of Rights stands in direct opposition to the principles of fairness, equality, and lawful governance.
As campaign leaders, we firmly believe:
