Africa Day 2025 is more than a moment. It’s a movement.

Across the globe, Africans and the African diaspora are rising — not only to honour our shared heritage, but to demand justice, celebrate identity, and shape the future on our own terms. This year’s Africa Day theme speaks directly to what we stand for at Garnetts Clothing Brand & Range, The Claudes SEN Law Campaign, and Fridays For Future Richmond: equity, education, environmental justice, and empowerment.

Honouring Our Heritage

Africa Day commemorates the founding of the Organisation of African Unity (now African Union) on May 25, 1963. But for us, it’s a deeper call to action — to honour the ancestors who fought for liberation and to amplify today’s voices calling for sustainable systems rooted in justice, dignity, and self-determination.

Advocating for Disability Rights & Inclusive Education

Through The Claudes SEN Law Campaign, we continue to fight against systemic inequalities impacting African and Black children with disabilities across the UK and globally. Education is a right — not a privilege — and on this Africa Day, we recommit to dismantling the barriers that hold back too many families across the diaspora.

Sustainable Fashion is a Revolutionary Act

At Garnetts Clothing Brand & Range, we believe the future of Africa lies not just in tradition, but in innovation. That’s why our designs fuse cultural expression with sustainability — using fashion as a tool for climate justice, circular economy, and economic empowerment for marginalized communities.

Environmental Justice is Racial Justice

Fridays For Future Richmond (Richmond Park) stands in solidarity with youth activists across the African continent demanding climate reparations, green jobs, and meaningful investment in African-led climate solutions. Africa is rich — in biodiversity, in people, in wisdom. It’s time global policies reflected that truth. https://www.patreon.com/posts/129872855

United by Struggle. Empowered by Legacy.

From Cape Town to Kingston, from Lagos to London — Africa Day is a global call to acknowledge the resilience, beauty, and power of African people everywhere. Let us remember: We are not waiting for change. We are the change.
