Event Description β
The Round Table on Peace and Security in 2025 and Beyond will bring together global leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss the intersection of peace, security, and sustainable development. This dialogue will explore the evolving challenges that threaten global stability and outline strategic solutions for the coming decade. A key focus will be aligning these discussions with the objectives of COP30, addressing climate change as a root cause of conflict, migration, and resource scarcity.

Public Statement π£
Climate change has been identified as one of the greatest and most severe worldwide threats to peace and security in the twenty-first century. While there is no direct causal relationship between climate change and conflict, there is mounting evidence that climate stresses and shocks might worsen underlying vulnerabilities and grievances, causing tensions and conflict dynamics. In recent years, increased awareness of the impacts of climate change on peace and security has led to in a growing demand for analyses that shed light on the complex linkages between rising global temperatures and instability risks, as well as the sharing of lessons learned and best practices, and trainings on how to incorporate these findings into conflict prevention efforts.
Delighted that Alishba shear’s her article on “Meaningful Climate Action” published in the AB Magazine (Middle East & South Asia) – March 2025 Issue.
Outline:
