Six states and three tribes in the United States have received major funding for mine land restoration as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. $130 million will go to high-priority abandoned mine land sites across Appalachia and First Nations communities. This funding will address health and safety issues caused by the historic pollution in these areas.
