Short Statement from: Guest Speakers
Inclusion and youth engagement are critical pillars for fostering a vibrant, diverse, and innovative society. Inclusion means ensuring that everyone, irrespective of their background, identity, or abilities, has equal opportunities to participate fully in all aspects of society. This encompasses access to education, employment, and decision-making processes. Engaging youth, on the other hand, empowers the next generation to contribute their unique perspectives and energy towards societal development. When young people are actively involved in their communities and decision-making, it not only boosts their personal growth and self-esteem but also drives social progress. Combining inclusion with youth engagement creates a powerful synergy. It ensures that diverse voices are heard and valued, leading to more creative and effective solutions to the challenges we face. For society to thrive, it is essential that we build environments that are both inclusive and actively seek to engage the youth. This approach will pave the way for a more equitable, dynamic, and sustainable future.

“As an indigenous gender-diverse rights activist, my focus is on advocating for inclusive gender-based violence (GBV) response services. Presenting our recent survey findings at the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust panel discussion underscored the urgent need for tailored support for survivors. I’m dedicated to promoting safer, more supportive communities by amplifying survivor voices and advocating for inclusive policies. Together, we can create meaningful change and combat GBV in all its forms.”
