BREAKING: The UK government just approved the controversial Rosebank oil field – the BIGGEST undeveloped oil field in the UK.

Rosebank won’t lower bills or make our energy more secure. But it will make #Equinor @equinor MILLIONS while producing pollution equal to the annual CO2 emissions from the world’s 28 lowest income countries combined! Adding new reserves, like Rosebank, will push us closer to parts of our world becoming uninhabitable. AND its pipeline would run through marine protected areas.

In 2021, thousands of us came together and forced oil giant Shell to pull out of the development of the Cambo oil field in the North Sea. Activists in Norway forced Equinor’s Wisting oil field to be put on pause. This is proof that we can win.

We’re going to take on all those that enable the destructive drive for new oil & gas – from the UK government to every cabinet member that sanctioned this decision, MPs and MSPs that stayed silent, Equinor’s and their greed for profit and the banks that fund this kind of project.

We need real solutions to the energy & climate crisis, not more oil & gas fields. We’re going to be bringing together groups and activists from across movements to fight the oil & gas industry’s newest money-grabbing megaproject.
