UNICEF UK Ambassadors and Campaigners delivered our signatures to Number 10 Downing Street #DowningStreet

Last week, we handed in over 66,000 petition signatures, from every constituency across the country, for a Baby and Toddler Guarantee to Number 10 Downing Street. This demonstrated mass public support, pushing this up the political agenda. #ForEveryChild #EarlyMomentsMatter  #LilyRoseEllis

What happened on the day?

▪︎ The final count of ‘66,292’ was written on the petition box and campaign board before walking to Number 10 Downing Street to hand in the petition.

▪︎ UNICEF UK Ambassador Cat Deeley, Lauren (UNIECF UK Senior Political Affairs Advisor), Suzanne (Campaigner from Leeds), Khadijah (Campaigner from Birmingham), handed in the petition to Number 10.

▪︎After we handed in the petition, we hosted an event in Parliament to paint a picture of early childhood services to MPs. During the event, we showcased:

– Hundreds of voice notes that you shared with us, making sure that MP’s listened to voice notes from their constituents.

– Brand new polling from parents in every region of the country on cost of living, access to mental health services, affordability of childcare.

– Latest data on access to services i n every local authority. This included child poverty statistics, data on health visits, closure of children’s centres, and change in local authority spending.

We couldn’t have done this without your support, so thank you so much for being part of an incredible year of campaigning.

Whilst this is a huge milestone for the campaign, it doesn’t stop here. We’ve already started planning the next stage of campaigning for a Baby and Toddler Guarantee, and I’ll keep you updated as the campaign progresses.
