Monday Motivation Word: Quality Education

¤ Education quality is a measure of the efficiency of an educational process. Improving the quality of education can help end inequality and terminate the cycle of poverty. Quality education leads people to a healthy and sustainable life and hence forming a peaceful and better society.

¤ This goal ensures that all girls and boys complete free primary and secondary schooling by 2030. It also aims to provide equal access to affordable vocational training, and to eliminate gender and wealth disparities with the aim of achieving universal access to a quality higher education.

¤ Intent: what you want pupils to know, and be able to do, by the time they leave your school (in other words, curriculum planning) Implementation: how the curriculum is taught and assessed. Impact: the outcomes pupils achieve as a result of the education they’ve received – so, how the curriculum is making a difference.

¤ Goal 4 seeks to: ensure access to fair, impartial and quality education through all stages of life. increase the number of young people and adults who have the relevant skills for employment, decent jobs, and entrepreneurship. eliminate gender and income disparities in access to education.

▪︎ Students with special educational needs (SEN) in London was significantly lower for those aged 16 and over compared to younger pupils, the BBC has found.

▪︎ Data shows that more than 13,000 SEN placements were offered to under-16s between 2019-2021. However, only 2,508 placements were given to 16-25 year olds in the same time period.

▪︎ Claude, 23, from Richmond-upon-Thames, has been out of education since 2017 after he was not granted an appropriate placement by his local education authority.
