The starting salary for a Level 1 Teaching Assistant is usually £17,364 in line with the local government pay scale. Level 2 Teaching Assistants can expect to earn between £18,000 to £20,000. Level 3 Teaching Assistants can earn up to £25,000 if they have additional specialisms or SEN responsibilities.

This equates to a 9.42% pay increase for the lowest point through to 3.88% for the highest point on the scale. For those on pay points above the maximum of the pay spine, the employers have offered an increase of 3.88%. With effect from 1 April 2023, an increase of 3.88% on all allowances.23 May 2023
