Some back of envelope calculations on Sunak’s package, taking into account interventions since April:

Council tax rebate (£150): £3billion

Energy bill discount (£400): ∼£12billion

Lump sum payments for those on benefits: ∼£5billion
So it’s a major fiscal intervention..
