In 1970, Earth Day was conceived by then-congressman Gaylord Nelson as a way to pressure government officials to take action to protect the environment and its people. He famously said:

That objective and our work is more important today than ever before.

Lonely Whale’s mission is to prevent plastic waste from entering the ocean. Plastic harms all living creatures and humans when it is produced, when it is used and when it is “lost” to the environment.

The Wisdom in the Water

OH-WAKE Magazine Issue #3, The Wisdom in Water, was released today alongside the launch of OH-Wake Media, the global youth publishing platform for young leaders who are driving the environmental movement.

These young leaders are marching in the streets, they’re passing sweeping legislation, they’re demanding action, and they’re telling their own stories about the change that is needed. But we aren’t hearing them as loudly and as clearly as we ought to.

That is, until now. OH-Wake Media has one priority in mind: to make the voices of young leaders heard.
