Why is so much water needed for animal agriculture?


When animals are raised and slaughtered for food, water is needed…

to grow their feed

for the animals to drink

to wash the animals

to clean their living spaces

to cool down animals when they’re hot

in the slaughter process

Water is precious. 1.2 billion people worldwide already live in water scarcity. How best to save water?  Well, you could stop showering for two months. Or never let the tap run when you brush your teeth. Or only flush the toilet when completely necessary. 💩
