With clean water, girls can thrive

Around the world, thousands of girls are missing out on the education they need to reach their full potential.

Why? Because a lack of clean water and decent toilets in school is holding them back.

Drinking dirty water causes both boys and girls to fall sick and miss lessons. But it’s girls who spend time collecting water for their families, instead of studying. And it’s girls who often stay home when they get their period, when there’s no usable toilet at school.

Donate to our Thirst for Knowledge Appeal and you can help bring clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to schools in Nepal, where one in three girls drops out of education completely after primary school.
