° This week we have released the results of a new survey with campaign group Let Us Learn Too.

° The findings are shocking. They show families with disabled children are having to pay huge amounts of money for services which should be a basic right.

• Can you help us share the important results?

° The survey further exposes an injustice. Disabled children and families have a right to support – like therapies, equipment, and assessments – to live a good quality of life. They deserve the same opportunities as anyone else, without having to fight for them. However, the survey found that:

– 40% of families with disabled children have seen their savings wiped out fighting and paying for support.

° One in three families with disabled children said they needed essential therapies for their disabled child – but could not afford them.

– 60% of families with disabled children have sought NHS mental health support for a family member due to the stresses of fighting for basic services.  

• This is just not good enough. Nobody should have to pay a #DisabilityEducationTax.
