The Ocean Is Calling! Our Youth Policy Advisory Council is an international group of Young Ocean Leaders recognized for their policy acumen and dedication to furthering environmental regulation in their region.

SOA’s Sustainable Ocean Alliance YPAC is currently focusing on generating awareness about the Global Blue New Deal policy framework + advocating for a moratorium on seabed mining.

The deadline to apply for YPAC 2022 is now January 23, 2022. We are seeking a total of 20 members from Australia, Canada, Chile, Fiji, Ghana, Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Namibia, Norway, Palau, Portugal, the United States, and 5 other countries.

YPAC 2022 campaign goals include proposing the GBND to local, national, regional, and international governments and organizations for implementation and lobbying countries and organizations to take a firm stance against deep-sea mining ahead of the International Seabed Authority’s meeting in December 2021.
