Busy Day and a busy past week, with news updates coming in fast and quick.
I had the pleasure to be invited to join: Today’s “trends at 12.” @bbcradiolondon https://instagram.com/bbcradiolondon?utm_medium=copy_link Thank You for Having Me!
My Top Three trends at 12 were the following:
In my opinion I wonder who offered him this job and also why do high profiled officials have the opportunity where they can easily just walk in and out of job roles without any process through the job role application stages, as we see it is all about who you know then your credentials.” Then we wonder why we are in an Education Crisis and a Crisis in general. When in my personal view Education must be about Education. The ex Health Minister was part of a number of short falls within our Government especially when it came to being non-transparent especially in regards COVID which the nation are still awaiting for an immediate Public Enquiry. However as we witness Matthew Hancock did not last long in this new post for long, before his face turned into a red light.
1) Mr Hancock announced this week that he had been given a role helping Africa’s economy recover from Covid.
The UN said he would bring valuable experience – but Mr Hancock now says a rule has come to light that prevents him from taking the job while an MP.
Leading figures across Africa and UK opposition parties had criticised the UN’s choice of the MP for the role.
Lobel, M. (2021). Matt Hancock’s United Nations role withdrawn. Available: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-58940128.amp. Last accessed 19th October 2021.
2) My Local London Report:
In this news article we have investment of money but no acknowledge, for the campaign work. Greta Thunberg and climate campaigners make to the acknowledge about the serious action the government is required to take. We do not ask talk, speeches of investment and green wash public statements just to be seen to tick a eco green box. When there’s been no Climate education for the UK and we are still having climate effects a round the world England and the rest of the world is still falling to listen and bring youth campaigners this includes XR part of the decision making in Solutions and points of taking action.
Here’s a Question for you: Do How many COP26 meetings we have had?
I leave you to think…
From 1994 to 2021 we’ve have had 27 COP26 and we still having massive effects of Climate Crisis on a global platform. I would throught that there would of been a solution by now. However we still have to wake up to our Leaders and uneco friendly business, who are not understanding the impacts of climate change unfortunately. We require urgent action and Climate Education. #CodeRed
Separate document on the cost of transitioning to net zero was published by the Treasury.
Cecil, N – Bond, D and Burford, R. (2021). Boris Johnson announces £1billion boost for electric car revolution. Available: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/boris-johnson-1-billion-pounds-electric-cars-net-zero-strategy-cop26-b961308.html. Last accessed 19th October 2021.
3) Story News Article Close to my Heart:
“This article shows mistreatment for people with hidden disabilities and who are not to be trusted within the public service care unfortunately. Due to laws which I believe could of be debated and cases like this report must never and could of never happen under the law of human rights which could of been highlighted.” In my person view there has been years of discrimination to people with hidden and visible disabilities. Including a number of unlawful behaviour has gone on in this COVID Climate which concerns me deeply.”
In the UK currently, there are over 4,000 Covid-19 patients in mechanical ventilation beds, the highest number seen so far in this pandemic.
As choices of available care become more limited, there is a risk that resources will not meet all patients’ clinical needs. This could lead, in a worst-case scenario, to doctors having to face challenging decisions on prioritisation of intensive care unit (ICU) places and mechanical ventilation.
Bloomer, A. (2021). The inappropriate use of ‘Do Not Resuscitate’ (DNR) notices for people with a learning disability during the first wave of the pandemic highlights the need for greater protections to be put in place.
