Personal Independence Payment – or PIP – is designed to help with some of the extra costs caused by a long-term disability, ill-health, or terminal illness.

Rules were recently changed so that claimants will be able to access fast-track financial support if their health professional says they may die within 12 months, extending it from the current six-month rule.
